Fiction
Alright gang — I decided since my Fiction writing is lost in a sea of essays, I should at least give y’all an index.
My favorite Fictional writing style is Auto-Fiction — a fictionalized memoir. But you’ll find an assortment of different styles below, all of them written in my voice. I hope you enjoy them! If you do, you’ll want to be sure you’re Subscribed, because there’s a lot more where that came from. Happy Reading! - MJ Polk

This is the first short story that I ever published. It’s inspired by the many stories that my Papa told me as a young’n.
Here’s a couple that I wrote that have an underlying theme of Perspective.
Cows Outside
I’ve been talking a lot about perspective lately, so I thought I’d share these three short stories on the subject. After reading, I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
I’ve got more of these Auto-Fiction 🤠 Farmhand stories to tell — but here’s what I’ve published so far!
Share the Road
I’ve just written a 2500 word auto fiction short story called Harvest Time, which is episode #3 of The Chronicles of a Farmhand series. Y’all will get it tomorrow, but I thought I’d use this opportunity to share a real life farmhand story with my biggest fans. This event happened the second year I was on the peanut picking crew.🤠
Here’s a couple that are published on my other publications, Stories from the Jukebox, and the Southern Writers Guild. Take a minute to look around those pubs if you’re a fan of Fiction, there’s a treasure trove of stories from some of the most talented writers on Substack there!
