Love this, MJ! I like how you incorporate quotes from many disciplines and backgrounds to make your point. What interests me here, from a behavioral perspective, is how we learn to make fine-tuned discriminations that tell us to pause. Like, what are the cues (inside or out) for pressing a button we can’t see? I think it’s pretty complex and takes time to learn all the situations we need to pause, and we have to give ourselves grace for *not* pausing all the times we don’t—for even the recognition of the not-pause is progress, too. Just my two cents. Thanks for this!
Yes! The recognition counts too, we have to give ourselves a little grace. Thank you Jennifer, I'm always eager to hear your perspective. Happy Writing! 🤠🤙
Thank you MJ , i am flattered and honoured to have been quoted in your article. The pause button is a function of intellect and so vital. You’ve written about it so well. Others will be thanking you for the reminder.
Great article M J
Thanks Stuart!

(Also I liked my comment so I can find it later in case I wanna save these words. 😆 you’re onto something really interesting, behaviorally!)
Lovely read and listen as always!
Thanks and Happy Writing Harriet! 🤠🤙

Btw, love your voice. This has been something that i have wanted to do however its finding the time, but it does add value to your articles.
Thank you Meredith. That's totally my wife's idea, I was reluctant at first. I always read them to her though, as it helps me to proof read aloud.
Btw- I just use the voice recorder on my phone. I might spend a half hour total recording and cutting the worst mistakes, a little stumble is fine.
Oh, I see; your wife is the brains behind what you do. That makes sense 🙏🤭
You nailed it!
That means so much, coming from you Meredith 🙏 Happy Writing my friend, I hope you're having a wonderful week!
All the best.
