Sending the Sun
True happiness is found in service
Well it shouldnāt be any surprise to my long-time readers that events this week have altered the direction of this newsletter. For the first time in months, I didnāt know at the start of the week what Iād be sharing with you today.
So when Jennifer N. Haddock told me on Monday that, Send The Sun, by Nikki Lane would be our Stories from the Jukebox song writing prompt this week, I knew exactly what to do with my submission. Thereās no doubt about it, comments are my favorite!
On Tuesday I was scrolling Notes, looking to interact with some friends. And then as it often does, I ran across a comment from a stranger that intrigued me. So, I followed the bread crumbs. I read a couple essays, made a comment, and went about my day. But then I got a reply, and subsequently gave an invitation.
What has followed is proof, that true happiness is found in selfless service to others.
As it turns out ā Me, taking the time to read a comment on a fellow writers work ā actually brightened their day, thousands of miles away.āØ
Which has intern, filled my cup until it runneth over š I am absolutely overwhelmed with gratitude for all of this. There is nothing that compares to the Joy one receives from selflessly helping others.
I didnāt comment on that essay by Good Boy Records in order to gain a Subscriber, though I did. I didnāt comment to gain a submission to this weekās Jukebox song prompt either, though I did. And I certainly didnāt comment because I wanted a song written and dedicated to me, though I received this blessing anyway.
I hope youāll take a moment and read Codsworthās essay, The Morning The Sun Finally Came In, and listen to, Broadsworth Calling Danny Boy. I promise that you will not be disappointed!
Think of others before yourself,
For in lifting them,
You lift yourself.
And in serving them,
You ascend.
-The Elder SageThereās no doubt about it, comments are my favorite!
