I understand your situation and your decision to go paid. I’m at the threshold. Having offered stuff for free for decades, i’ve learnt that people don’t value it, no matter how good it is.
I wonder if it’s an option to turn paid on but have everything free for awhile. I’ll investigate. I actually think it’s a good idea to have that option of free or paid.
Makes sense. And I agree on the comments, if the post is free the comments should apply to free readers as well. But I guess I could see a scenario where one might, like if they've got thousands of subscribers and still want to be able to respond to them. Thanks for adding your thoughts. I think so. You should be able to turn on "paid subscriptions" but not paywall.

Good post. It’s a constant internal battle. I want people to read my stuff. but I’d be lying if I said the end goal isn’t to make money from it.
