There's so much going on in this one. My writers block really is nothing more than I don't have anything I want to say, during these times I'm doing what you call Admin stuff.

When I'm writing or producing, that's what I'm doing, I put the admin stuff to the side.

I don't have a bucket of stuff/ideas, what I do is everyday, I I pull up Word and just start typing whatever words comes to my mind at that time. Sometimes it's only a sentence or two, other times it's a page. If I think it's good then I'll publish it.

But I don't think of subjects, titles, or draft outlines first then start writing. in fact if you gave me a subject or a prompt and told me to write about it, I most likely would come up blank.

Now I know that in this world that makes me a oddball, but if I do any of that type of stuff, I'll get bored before I even get my first sentence written and just wouldn't write about it.

I can definitely see that, “writer’s block is nothing more than I don’t have anything to say.” That’s just what I mean when I say I don’t think creativity works like that. Strike while the iron is hot! I appreciate you reading and sharing your take Jason! Happy Writing!🤠🤙

Admin? I have a man for that. Mind you, after about the third sherry, he's not very reliable.

That could be a Cotton quote🥃 if you replace sherry with bourbon. Y'all've got it made!

My bucket is so full there are things in the bottom covered in dust. I, too, feel like I'm pulled in so many directions and it really hampers, not only my output but the time I have to intake everything I want from so many talented people here.

OMG IKR 😆 this platform is a blessing and a curse. It is impossible to read all the great writing here, while still getting your own writing accomplished! Oh and don't even get me started on my idea bucket... 🙃 Happy Writing Shannon!🤠🤙

I’m going to risk sounding weird here. I love that you read your work. I’ve never been a fan of the southern drawl but I could listen to you reading for hours. Please don’t make it awkward, I know it already sounds dodgy, but you have a good reading voice and it really amplifies your work.

Hahaha thanks Shannon. Like with most things, my Sweetheart deserves the credit. I'd mentioned that I enjoyed listening to others and she convinced me to add the readings. I wasn't convinced initially, but y'all have repeatedly confirmed that she was once again right. OMG tell me you've listened to the blooer reel at the bottom...🫣

I feel you on the admin! For me, I’ve decided that I need tighter stimulus control over writing (“pen to paper”) vs editing a compete unit vs non-writing related writing tasks (admin, organization). With only so much time in the day , and a habit of the first one but not the others, I think I need to establish an entirely separate time to do the other. Keep my morning writing practice as is but carve out time for the other two, in which that’s all I do.

Idk if that’ll help you but it will help me! Stimulus control, baby!

Yeah, stimulus control for the win! Having a dedicated writing time and protecting it at all costs seem to be the key. I've even started including a "no wifi" writing time, to prevent my self from straying off task. But I've got to do a better job in the mornings. That's by far when I'm at my most creative. Thanks for reading and adding your thoughts Jennifer! Happy Writing!🤠🤙
